In this section you will find brief information on internal funding opportunities. An individual or a group of researchers can apply for support. These programs are designed to complement and leverage external funding opportunities.

For the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Graduate Studies (VPRGS) programs, please note that your Faculty will have an earlier internal deadline and other specific requirements for submission, to allow for review by the Faculty Research Committee. Each Faculty may have other special programs as well. Contact the Office of Research or your Faculty’s Research Facilitator for further information.

Objective: To provide financial support for the development of innovative and emerging research/creation projects that will lead to the preparation of applications for provincial and federal grant competitions.

Facility Optimization

Objective: To provide researchers with funding to upgrade facilities to accommodate research requirements.

Objective: To support activities related to the dissemination of research accomplishments, research visibility and scholarly publication support.

Strategic International Partnership Seed Funding Program

Strategic International Partnership [pdf, 189kb]

Objective: Offers Concordia faculty members opportunities to go abroad, in order to explore future academic or research initiatives which will result in student mobility, to build new programs outside of Canada (field schools, summer courses, etc), or to propose new international initiatives.

General Funding Guidelines

Faculty Research Development Program (FRDP)

Objective: Offered to each new faculty member at Concordia to initiate research activities during their first years until external funding has been secured.

Concordia Aid to Scholarly Activity (CASA)

Objective: To provide travel, equipment and personnel awards to individual researchers in support of their research.
